Why EyesForward
- $1.99, one-time. No subscription, no "free trial" funnel, no upsells.
- Reviewed & approved by Apple. Sold through the Mac App Store.
- No account. No cloud. Paste and read.
- Built for macOS in Swift. Native app — not an Electron wrapper or a web page.
- Apple Silicon native. Built as a Mac app from the ground up — not a Catalyst port of an iPad app.
- Does one thing: scrolls your script. Write in whatever editor you already use — no bundled AI, no "platform" to learn.
- No microphone, ever. Fixed-pace scrolling — zero audio permissions, zero processing of your voice.

No tricks. No "free" tier that nags you into a subscription. $1.99 once and it's yours.
EyesForward is the only native Mac teleprompter in this list — one-time price, no account, works offline.
Installed from the App Store in 10 seconds. No Xcode, no Homebrew, no compiling — signed, reviewed, and updated by Apple.
Why $1.99 and not free?
Free teleprompters exist — NotchPrompter, Telepront, Textream. So why charge anything? Because $1.99 buys an Apple-reviewed binary, signed and notarized, distributed through the Mac App Store. It buys an identifiable developer who answers email and fixes bugs. No notch trick. No AI feature creep. No data harvesting funding the "free" version. Once. Two dollars. Done.
FAQ
How is this different from Telepront or NotchPrompter, which are free?
Those are clever single-purpose hacks — one lives in the menu bar notch, another floats a tiny window. EyesForward is a full Mac app: Apple-reviewed, signed, notarized, with a real developer behind it. You get formatting, RTF save/load, section dividers, light/dark modes, words-per-minute targeting, and a window you can resize from thin to wide. $1.99 once, no account, no upsell.
Does it work with my Glide Gear (or Elgato, or NEEWER) rig?
Yes. EyesForward runs as the laptop-side text source for any beam-splitter teleprompter rig. Position your Mac under the rig's mirror and scroll your script — same as you would with any other Mac teleprompter app.
Does it have voice-tracked scrolling?
No, on purpose. EyesForward never asks for microphone access and never processes your voice. Scrolling runs at a fixed pace you set in advance. If voice tracking is a hard requirement for you, use PromptSmart Pro instead. If you'd rather not have an algorithm listening to you read, EyesForward is built for that.
EyesForward is a simple teleprompter for your Mac.
Paste your script, set your reading speed, and press Run. The text scrolls automatically while you record videos or present to your webcam.
- Set duration with minutes/seconds or words-per-minute
- Position the window under your camera for natural eye contact
- Make the window thin so your eyes don't scan left and right
- Bold, italic, underline formatting
- Section dividers for visual cues
- Light and dark modes
- Save and load scripts as RTF
- Use it as the laptop-side source for a hardware teleprompter rig (Glide Gear, Elgato Prompter, NEEWER)
Made by Robert S. Hirsch, an independent Mac developer. $1.99 forever — no VC funding, no roadmap pressure, no reason to add features you didn’t ask for.
Privacy Policy
EyesForward does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All scripts and settings remain on your device. The app requires no internet connection and makes no network requests.
No microphone access. The scroll speed is set by you, not guessed by an algorithm listening to your voice.
